Studying in the Library DIIT
Library is the place to access to vital information, support during your course and a great place to study. The Library provides facilities for both group and private study. Specific areas are provided for silent study.

Library card:
There is a library card service point which issues library card to the students to borrow books & journals. The Library card is issued within 15 days after the admission procedure. A team consisted of eight members are working for the library along with the designated librarian.

Library Services:

Libraries open 12/5:
The Library is kept open 12 hours a day during term time, so you can study when it suits to you.
  • Time: 9am-6pm, Saturday to Thursday

Learning Unit:
The Learning Unit provides space for group and individual work which has workstations with power supplies for laptops.

Dedicated support for you:
In addition to support on your course, the Library provides advice, guidance and resources on many study skills including:
  • Literature searching and reference management
  • Journals
  • Research Papers

Special formats and collections Journals:

  • Checklist of selected newspaper titles (covers print, microform and electronic formats)
  • Special Collections and Archives
  • Theses
  • Software
  • Business & IT Magazines.

Access:

  • Access to the library is open to all the students who have valid library card.
  • Only the library members are entitled to borrow books.
  • Library cards are not transferable and must be shown to the librarian on request
  • Students membership will be withdrawn incase of failure in producing valid library card
  • The loss of library card must be reported to the Library Authority immediately.
  • Students may be held liable for any items lost because the loss of a card has not been reported
  • Books can be borrowed for only 7 days.

Borrowing:

  • Items available for loan may be borrowed, within the limits specified for each borrower category on production of a valid membership card.
  • Fines will be imposed for late return of loaded items, according to a published schedule.
  • Persons who have incurred fines or other library charges may be refused borrowing facilities until such debts have been settled.
  • No books/contents can be removed from the Authority without prior notice from the authority.
  • Borrowers will be responsible for all items issued for them. The responsibility ends only when the item has been recorded as returned to the library.
  • All items on loan must be returned before the borrowers membership expires.
  • All persons entering or leaving the Library must allow Library Staff to examine all library materials in their possession and to see the contents of all cases, bags & other receptacles.

Conducts:

  • Deliberate unauthorized removal of Library Materials, damaging of Library Property will be regarded as the extremely serious offense and may result in disciplinary action.
  • Readers will be responsible for any damage/loss of items on loan to them or being used by them in the library time.
  • The reservation of the seats in the Library is not permitted
  • The library accepts no responsibility for personal belongings brought into the library
  • Student must study during the library time, no extra time will be allowed for them.
  • Conversation or any other behavior likely to disturb or inconvenience others readers must be avoided.
  • Designated area for Group Studies has been given for the students.
  • Any library staff may require any staff any students thought to be guilty of disruptive or any improper behavior to withdraw from the library immediately.
  • Mobile Phones or other electronics devices may not be used in the library spaces or switched off in silent & quite study areas.
  • Smoking is forbidden in the area of Library
  • Any consumption of food or drink is prohibited except the water.
